The Southwest Chapter of the American Musicological Society is a group of scholars, performers, and composers in the Southwest region of the United States. We are part of the\u00a0American Musicological Society<\/a>, a national organization founded in 1934 to advance research in the various fields of music as a branch of learning and scholarship.\u00a0 Find out more about the fifteen\u00a0AMS chapters<\/a>\u00a0 by following the link. The names and contact information of chapter officers can be found\u00a0 in the\u00a0AMS Directory<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Membership in the AMS-Southwest Chapter is separate from membership with the national American Musicological Society. You may be a member of the Chapter without being a member of the national organization. Membership dues for AMS-SW are collected online through the central office of the American Musicological Society<\/a>. As of 2024, the rate is $25 for income of $70,000 and up, $15 for income between $40,000 and $70,000, and $10 for income under $20,000.
