The AMS Southwest Chapter strives to create an accessible and open environment for our members. As a regional chapter of the national American Musicological Society, we ask our members to follow the\u00a0AMS principles<\/a>\u00a0for ethical conduct:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Freedom of inquiry and the widest possible access to information of use to scholars;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Honesty and integrity in scholarly investigation and in the evaluation and transmission of the results of scholarship;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Respect for diverse points of view and the potential worth of scholarship on any aspect of music theory or any related subject;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Recognition of the intellectual property rights of other scholars, institutions, publishers, composers, performers, and informants, and acknowledgment of the principle of fair use;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Fairness and honesty in evaluations of colleagues and students;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Avoidance of any appearance of a conflict of interest in processes of evaluating the work of colleagues and students; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Commitment to extend to colleagues and students equal opportunities for full participation in the professional community.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    In short, we kindly ask for our members to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
